Funding Opportunity RFA-AG-21-027 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. NIA's MD-PhD Training Program in Alzheimer's Disease and Its Related Dementias and the Behavioral and Social Sciences is designed to help strengthen the pipeline of physician-scientist leaders dedicated to using social and behavioral science approaches to addressing the nation's challenges posed by Alzheimer's disease and its related dementias (AD/ADRD). This FOA provides support to eligible domestic institutions to develop and implement effective approaches to integrated dual-degree training leading to the award of both an MD and a research doctorate degree (PhD or equivalent, e.g. DSW).

Funding Opportunity PA-20-275 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) hereby notify recipient organizations holding specific types of NIH grants, listed in the full Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), that applications for change of recipient organization status, often referred to in this announcement as Successor-In-Interest, may be submitted to this FOA. Applications for change of recipient organization status are considered prior approval requests (as described in Section 8.1.2.8 of the NIH Grants Policy Statement) and will be routed for consideration directly to the Grants Management Specialist named in the current award. Although successor-in-interest requests may be submitted through this FOA, there is no guarantee that an award will be transferred to the new organization. All applicants are encouraged to discuss potential requests with the awarding IC before submission.

Funding Opportunity RFA-HD-21-030 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to address the needs of the maternal and pediatric HIV scientific community for research data translation and sharing. This initiative will support secondary data analyses using archived HIV/AIDS data and specimens to generate new research questions and findings relevant to the scientific mission and priorities of the NICHD, Maternal and Pediatric Infectious Disease Branch (MPIDB), and Office of AIDS Research (OAR). The goal of this initiative is to encourage the scientific community to utilize HIV/AIDS archived data sets and specimen collections to answer important questions about the epidemiology, pathogenesis, treatment, clinical manifestations, and HIV-associated co-infections in maternal, pediatric and adolescent populations.

Funding Opportunity PAR-21-027 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. Basic research in the area of HIV-associated comorbidities has generally focused on the analysis of a pathway or a potential mechanism that contributes to the development of a single, specific HIV-associated comorbidity or end-organ disease. However, evidence indicates that there could be shared biological mechanisms that underlie the development of certain comorbidities, especially in the context of HIV infection. Targeting these mechanisms may not only impact HIV-associated comorbidities, but also have an impact on HIV cure and help elucidate underlying mechanisms of HIV disease pathogenesis. Through the formation of multidisciplinary teams, this initiative aims to uncover the pathophysiologic mechanisms that drive biological aging and age-related comorbidities in people living with HIV. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) seeks applications for comprehensive systems biology studies using multidisciplinary team science to identify common, overlapping etiologies of HIV-associated comorbidities. Ultimately, the goal is to identify targets for intervention to mitigate multiple heart, lung, blood, and sleep (HLBS)-related comorbidities associated with HIV infection.

Funding Opportunity PAR-20-310 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to encourage innovative health services research that can directly and demonstrably contribute to the improvement of minority health and/or the reduction of health disparities at the health care system-level as well as within clinical settings.
