Funding Opportunity RFA-AI-22-054 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of this FOA is to solicit applications for an Allergy and Asthma Statistical and Clinical Coordinating Center (AA-SCCC) to provide a broad range of support critical for design, development, execution, and analysis of clinical research in allergic diseases and asthma. The major clinical research programs to be supported by the AA-SCCC include the Atopic Dermatitis Research Network, Consortium for Food Allergy Research, Childhood Asthma in Urban Settings Clinical Research Network, and Immune Tolerance Network. The AA-SCCC also may support Investigator-Initiated Clinical Trials (IICT), and other clinical trial/study activities funded by NIAID. The types of research for which support will be provided include clinical trials, integrated studies of underlying mechanisms, clinical studies (e.g., longitudinal observational studies, genetic studies, etc.), and studies to identify and validate surrogates/biomarkers.

Funding Opportunity RFA-AG-23-020 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of this funding opportunity is to promote collaborative research programs to support the development of infrastructure for precision medicine approaches for minority health and health disparities in AD/ADRD. This FOA serves as a catalytic opportunity for investigators to focus on populations underrepresented in AD/ADRD research, to build resources that include neurobiological, environmental, behavioral, and social science data, and to initiate innovative, integrated, and expanded studies of individuals from these populations.

Funding Opportunity RFA-AG-23-025 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications from institutions proposing to develop, or renew, a Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) that focuses on behavioral and social science research in a key area related to Alzheimers disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD). The goal of the AD/ADRD RCMAR program is two-fold: (1) to diversify the AD/ADRD research workforce in priority areas of social, behavioral, psychological, and economic research related to AD/ADRD by mentoring promising scientists from diverse backgrounds; and 2) to develop a research and mentoring infrastructure to foster rigorous research and lead to scientific advances in priority areas of behavioral and social science related to AD/ADRD, including, but not limited to, the following: cognitive and dementia epidemiology, behavioral and social pathways to AD/ADRD, early psychological and functional changes, AD/ADRD prevention, dementia care, caregiving/care partners, and AD/ADRD health disparities and health inequities. To achieve the goal of the AD/ADRD RCMAR program, applications should propose multipronged, collaborative approaches in a supportive environment that embraces, integrates, and strengthens diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).

Funding Opportunity RFA-AG-23-026 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to invite applications from institutions proposing to develop, or renew, a Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) that focuses on behavioral and social science research in a key area related to aging and/or to health disparities in older adults. Successful applications will propose the use of multipronged collaborative approaches in a supportive environment that embraces, integrates, and strengthens diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA), to achieve the two-fold goal of the RCMAR program: 1) to diversify the research workforce in priority areas of social, behavioral, psychological, and economic research on aging by mentoring promising scientists from diverse backgrounds; and 2) to develop a research and mentoring infrastructure to foster rigorous behavioral and social science research on aging in a high priority research area, that can advance aging-relevant scientific discoveries, lead to the elimination of health disparities and health inequities, and improve the health and well-being of older adults who are members of NIAs Priority Populations, as specified in the NIA Health Disparities Research Framework.
Friday, August 5, 2022 - 8:43am
Funding Opportunity RFA-AG-23-027 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to develop and maintain a coordinating center (CC) for the Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) program. The RCMAR program supports behavioral and social research on aging, health disparities in older adults, and Alzheimers disease and Alzheimers disease related dementias (AD/ADRD), through the development of research infrastructure and mentorship of early career scientists from diverse backgrounds. The primary responsibilities of the RCMAR CC are to: coordinate and provide logistical support to RCMAR Centers; facilitate cooperation and collaboration across RCMAR Centers; create and maintain an interactive RCMAR CC website; identify and share research and training resources and materials; provide support, technical assistance, and resources to early career investigators; and perform program analysis and evaluation. The CC will also develop and implement strategies to enhance the visibility of the RCMAR program and behavioral and social research on aging and AD/ADRD as a whole, and to communicate the importance and value of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in the aging and AD/ADRD research enterprise.

Funding Opportunity PAR-22-222 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The objective of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support the continued development of new and innovative on-demand, event-driven, and long-acting (systemic and non-systemic) multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs). It supports development of MPTs that prevent HIV infection and pregnancy (hormonal and non-hormonal methods); sexually transmitted infections (STI) and pregnancy; or multiple non-HIV STI or HIV/STI MPTs in cis and trans males and females of all ages. Applications for MPT development may involve pharmacokinetic (PK), pharmacodynamic (PD), safety and, drug-drug interactions (DDI) studies using drug development, and formulation science supported by animal model testing. Also supported are biobehavioral and behavioral/social studies to identify MPT user-desired rheological and biophysical factors (look, feel, effectiveness, safety, and duration of action) and other behavioral/social factors that could promote increased MPT adoption and use.
