Funding Opportunity RFA-HD-23-025 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites grant applications to develop physiomimetic platforms and organoid culture systems for studies of the female reproductive tract and gametogenesis (both male and female) that can be used to uncover factors responsible for gynecological conditions and infertility. The R21 grant mechanism is intended to encourage exploratory/developmental research by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of project development. High risk/high reward projects that lack preliminary data may be most appropriate for this FOA. Applicants with preliminary data may wish to apply to the companion R01 mechanism (RFA-HD-23-024).

Funding Opportunity RFA-AT-23-007 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) invites applications for REsearch Across Complementary and Integrative Health Institutions (REACH) virtual resource centers. REACH virtual resource centers will foster institutional partnerships and provide resources to support research activities and research training for faculty who work at accredited complementary and integrative health clinical institutions, such as: Schools of acupuncture, chiropractic, osteopathy, naturopathy, physical therapy, and music and art therapy. The REACH virtual resource centers will provide a variety of services and resources including, but not limited to Administrative Support, Research Support, Grantsmanship, Mentoring and Training, and Team Building to support clinician scientists located at complementary and integrative health clinical institutions to form multi and interdisciplinary research teams and pursue externally funded research aligned with NCCIH Strategic Priorities for symptom management. REACH centers should focus on resources to support investigators pursuing clinical research (e.g., observational, epidemiological, mechanistic clinical research, mixed methods, feasibility studies, etc). It is expected that REACH virtual resource centers will (1) improve the quality and quantity of federal research grant applications submitted by clinician scientist faculty at complementary and integrative health clinical institutions; (2) aid the formation of multi and interdisciplinary research partnerships across partnering complementary and integrative health clinical institutions; (3) help to enhance the research environment at complementary and integrative health clinical institutions; and (4) support a pipeline for clinician scientists trained in complementary and integrative health practices to pursue research careers at clinical institutions.

Funding Opportunity RFA-AI-22-055 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The goal of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to promote research to improve our understanding of how vaccines against infectious agents lead to durable protective immunity. This initiative will support studies that define components and mechanisms of the immune system that determine such durability. Applications must propose the use of human cells/tissues to decipher the human response elicited through vaccination. Animal studies also may be included to elucidate mechanistic pathways not easily accomplished with human samples.

Funding Opportunity RFA-HD-23-018 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications from organizations to establish Translational Research Resource Platforms (TRRPs) that will facilitate, support, and conduct therapeutic-focused research for maternal and pediatric populations. As part of the Maternal and Pediatric Precision in Therapeutics (MPRINT) program this FOA will focus on resource platforms to support concerted multidisciplinary team science efforts that leverage existing and prospective resources (biobanks, biological sample repositories, omics data, tissue specific genomic/epigenomic atlases, EHRs, etc.) to develop innovative technologies and analytic tools that can advance therapeutic research for maternal and pediatric precision therapeutics.

Funding Opportunity RFA-CA-22-054 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The objectives of the Early Detection Research Network (EDRN; edrn.cancer.gov) are to discover, develop and validate biomarkers and imaging methods to detect early stage cancers and to translate these into clinical tests. The EDRN provides an infrastructure that is essential for this process and has successfully completed more than10 multicenter validation studies.

Funding Opportunity RFA-CA-22-041 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of the NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award (F99/K00) is to encourage and retain outstanding graduate students recognized by their institutions for their high potential and strong interest in pursuing careers as independent cancer researchers. The award will facilitate the transition of talented graduate students into successful cancer research postdoctoral appointments and provide opportunities for career development activities relevant to their long-term career goals of becoming independent cancer researchers.

Funding Opportunity RFA-DE-23-012 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) is continuing its support for dental practice-based research by soliciting research to be conducted in the dental school predoctoral/postdoctoral clinic setting. Dental school clinics provide a unique and robust setting in which to conduct research due to the variety of general dentistry and specialty clinics and unique patient population with needs ranging from simple to complex. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is soliciting applications for practice-based research studies conducted in the dental school predoctoral/postdoctoral clinics, to provide clinical research experiences and educational activities in the dental school setting. Applications to this FOA must address: 1) collaborative partnerships between faculty members who are research-focused and those who are clinically-oriented; 2) intra- and/or inter-institutional collaborations; 3) practice-based research experiences in dental school predoctoral/postdoctoral clinics, by expanding dental school clinics to incorporate practice-based research activities; and 3) clinical research skills development through coursework and/or research education/training opportunities.
