Research Seminar Series

Thursday, May 10, 2018 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

UAHS 5403 & Banner-UMC-SC 3030

TOPIC: "Redefining the Effect of Insulin on Microtubules Thanks to Microtubule-Associated Protiens" & "TBD"
SPEAKERS: Paul Langlais, PhD, & Christina Laukaitis, MD, PhD

Dr. Paul Langlais:For over the past twenty years Paul Langlais has been performing discovery-based research in the field of insulin signal transduction. In addition, he has also become proficient at mass spectrometry-based label-free quantitative proteomics, i.e. the adaptation of mass spectrometry to the quantification of protein post-translational modification levels and/or protein expression levels among groups and/or treatments as well as exploring protein-protein associations via interactome characterization. Paul has experience in researching the role proteins play in the insulin signal transduction cascade, and how these proteins are regulated by either post-translational modification or by protein-protein interactions. Paul also specializes in contributing quantitative proteomics experiments to collaborators in need of this technique.

Watch It Live!

The monthly series, which began in September 2016, runs through June with lectures held on the second Thursday of the month—same time, same location. A light lunch will be served in the style of Grand Rounds.
